Contracts Engineer

In this role you will be supporting the company objectives across multiple municipal frameworks, industry & infrastructure vertical markets, primarily for pumps and mixers applications.

The primary function of the Contract Engineer is to review, evaluate and accurately process customer orders via our CPQ tool (Configure Price Quote) and ERP systems. Manage communication with customers, suppliers, inventory and logistics departments and invoicing/finance functions. Maintain delivery schedules with our business systems. Engage with customers regarding their order scope, delivery conditions and requirements to ensure a smooth customer experience.

What are your essential duties/principal responsibilities?

  • Process customer purchase orders

  • Ensure timely, accurate invoicing is carried out in line with company financial targets

  • Deal with post order queries and issues, liaising with technical support staff where necessary

  • Engage with customers around requirements and opportunities regarding other Xylem products and services available.

  • Attend customer/site meetings as and when required.

  • Work with the Xylem Field Sales Engineers, Regional Managers and Vertical heads of Sales to ensure on time SLAs are met and customers get the best experience possible.

  • To deal with customer issues and to find a resolution in a prompt & fair manner.

  • Support in Continuous Improvement activities to both systems and process, to improve KPi’s and service levels for the customer.

  • To assist in departmental initiatives as and when required.

  • Conduct other tasks as required to develop the business.

What do we ask from you for this position?

  • Experience working with bespoke systems (Sales Force, CPQ, AS400, Pump Selection software) is advantageous although not essential as full training will be given.

  • Numerate and have strong problem-solving skills

  • People skills (approachable, friendly and confident) and a team worker

  • Experience within a customer service role dealing with a high volume of enquiries / orders.

  • Literate and effective communicator in spoken and written English.

  • Calm considered and diligent in approach.
