Robert Half Staff Accountant in Norwood, Massachusetts

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Norwood, Massachusetts. This role primarily involves handling general ledger tasks, managing accounts payable and receivable, and performing other accounting and administrative duties. The successful candidate will be proficient in a range of skills including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and proficiency in software applications like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts

• Process Journal Entries for accrued expenses, fixed assets, and payroll

• Reconcile statements for multiple bank accounts

• Participate in the month-end variance review against budget, prior month, and prior year

• Assess variances when performing reconciliations, closings, and forecasting functions

• Maintain vendor accounts and ensure accurate coding and recording in accounts payable

• Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation

• Ensure credit is received from suppliers as necessary for returns and invoice discrepancies

• Daily posting and emailing of customer invoices and follow-up on past due customer payments

• Research and set up of new customers and ensure receipt of valid sales tax exemption certificates from customers

• Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing other tasks as assigned. Requirements • Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Ability to maintain and manage General Ledger

• Skilled in preparing and recording Journal Entries

• Capable of performing Month End Close activities

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP accounting software

• Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team as needed

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Relevant professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.
