Role Overview:
The Engineering Program Manager (EPM) will manage New Product Development (NPD) and sustaining projects of Unison electrical components. Projects will predominantly be permanent magnet alternators, power electronics and regulators, harnesses, temperature sensors and probes, ignition products, and new technology initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The EPM will be responsible for providing engineering guidance and technical direction to cross functional teams to ensure business objectives and hardware deliveries are achieved. The EPM will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. The principal roles and responsibilities include the following:
Overall ownership and accountability of assigned projects and programs from launch through production
Act as the primary technical customer point-of-contact for assigned programs
Execute with limited guidance and meet business practices and procedures along with product/program requirements
Recommend approaches to meet technical and program requirements
Formulate and implement plans to achieve scope management, technical requirements, budgets, schedules, and contract commitments
Develop action and risk mitigation plans to anticipate and respond to problems
Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams
Identify program and hardware risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
Coordinate with the NPD team and manufacturing to develop cost targets, meet internal unit cost, and ensure on-time deliveries
Mentor others in the organization
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments
Lead or participate in organizational efforts of assigned projects and/or tasks
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Interpret and clarify customer technical expectations
Define and maintain technical compliance to customer requirements
Write technical proposals and present technical information to customers
Ability and availability to travel up to 30% (domestic and international)
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading design and/or development of new products
Preferred Qualifications :
Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering
Leadership experience in the Aerospace industry
Ability to influence and seamlessly work cross-functionally in a matrix organization
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customer organizations, including upper management
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
The base pay range for this position is $121,500.00 – $145,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on January 29, 2025.
