Summary:
Under general direction of the DIO, Director of Medical Education and Program Director, assists in the operation of the resident education program. Supports the PA Residents, PA Students, Medical Students. Works with the Program Director to maintain residency management software, coordinates rotations and evaluations; designs and operationalizes resident recruitment activities; assists with resident involved research (database management); assists in preparing instructional materials; types various correspondences and performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities
Develops and conducts studies and surveys relevant to residency programs, residenteducation and medical student education which are used to monitor and enhance theprogram.
Develops and maintains residency program schedules, evaluation and tracks residentattendance.
Develops, implements and maintains departmental recordkeeping and filing systems
Assists in preparing complex administrative and statistical reports and projects
Performs a variety of general secretarial duties and administrative responsibilities, alsoperforms duties and projects specific to the functions and needs of the department and preceptors.
Places, receives and routes telephone calls and messages; screens and prioritizes calls.
Determines hardware, software and system needs for the residency education to all types of trainees.
Assists residents in research and quality improvement databases; tracking resident and faculty involvement in research and quality improvement projects using databases.
Prepare and maintain and update website materials and information (RMS, ACGMESystems, Academic Board Systems)
Maintain confidential resident, medical student, alumni and faculty files including, but notlimited to, physician licenses, certifications, and credentialing records.
Monitors and tracks faculty Continued Medical Education Credits
Understands the dynamics and objectives of the Residency/Fellowship Program and has indepth understanding of ARC- PA, Specialty and Program Requirements and Policies.
Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education.
Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties as required.
Education, Skills and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Education, Communication, or related field
Master’s Degree in Public Health, Business Administration or related field preferred
Minimum of two years in administrative capacity in graduate medical education
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Systems and other residency database systems preferred.
Working Conditions:
Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk
Physical Effort: Sedentary/light effort. May exert up to 10 lbs. force
