Job Title: -- Employee Benefits and Payroll Administrator
Job Summary: -- This position provides support for the administration of employee benefits, utilizing maintenance of the company-wide Human Resources Information System. The Employee Benefits & Payroll Administrator is also responsible for the entire payroll process for this multi-state organization, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --
Employee Benefits Administrator (80% - 90%)
Has primary responsibility for weekly payroll file load, audit, and 401(k) reconciliation
Performs a variety of benefit accounting functions
Manage monthly delinquent loan report process
Create various reports, interpreting data and presenting results
Assist the Senior Manager, Benefits in monitoring compliance with plan rules and regulations
Provide support for all departmental responsibilities, including audits, annual plan testing, 401(k) plan, health and welfare plans and special projects
Maintain and update process documentation for administration and audit purposes
Payroll Administrator (10% - 20%)
Responsible for processing weekly payroll for the company’s corporate office (approximately 200 employees)
Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as other best practices
Work closely with HR, accounting, tax, and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations
Maintain the corporate payroll system (ADP)
Retain accurate payroll records, ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained for all payroll transactions
Maintain adequate internal controls over the payroll process, supporting internal and external audits
Safeguard all payroll data, ensuring that sensitive employee information is securely stored and accessed only by authorized personnel, preventing unauthorized disclosure or misuse of payroll information
Support the accounting department with the preparation of necessary reports, reconciliations, and journal entries
Address and resolve payroll-related questions or inquiries from employees in a timely manner
Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of form W-2s to employees, ensuring that all wage and tax statements are in compliance with IRS regulations and meet the year-end reporting deadlines
Responsible for managing the setup, registration, and remittance of all state related payroll taxes
Through ADP, coordinate the preparation and filing of all payroll tax returns to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
Stay informed of changes in payroll tax laws and regulations to avoid penalties and ensure accurate reporting
Seek opportunities to identify and implement process improvements that enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy
Oversee the management of the ADP time off system
Support the accounting department with various ad-hoc requests and projects as necessary
Primary point of contact for Corporate Employee payroll-related questions
Qualifications: --
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on related experience in a large organization with benefits and payroll
A./B.S. or equivalent experience required, degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
Demonstrate ability to take initiative and carry out assigned tasks to completion are critical to the position’s success
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing or orally
Solid analytical skills
Proficiency in payroll software and systems, including ADP required
Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices
Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
Working knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems
Solid understanding of employee benefits
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
Self-starter/self-motivated/proactive
Strong interpersonal skills
High attention to detail

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $109,000.
This position is bonus eligible.
