Job Description Summary

The quality engineer's responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions. You will also work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures. They play a key role in preventing issues or fixing them if they arise.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of both quality assurance and quality control, quality assurance of products, services and manufacturing processes, conformance in manufacturing, goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.

  • Act as customer support focal

  • Review and determine disposition of nonconforming inventory

  • Assiss in resolving internal and external quality problems utilizing proven methods

  • Complete and maintain all first article inspection and product audits for assigned programs

  • Author, review and update manufacturing and/or inspection instructions

  • Contribute to team overall development thru overall experience and knowledge

  • Resolve issues using established procedures

  • Consult supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters

  • Develop strong internal, supplier and customer relationships

  • Serve as the interface between customer and GE

  • Ensure compliance to customer requirements (drawings, standards, purchase orders, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in a quality role)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting statistical data

  • Experience communicating quickly and clearly with your team and customers

  • Experience with relevant software (Mini Tab, Microsoft Office), quality assurance methods, 6 sigma, Lean manufacturing and quality manufacturing processes
