Job Description
As a Transportation Planner for outlet retail stores, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the logistic and transportation processes that drive our retail operations. This position requires a keen understanding of supply chain management and the specific needs of the outlet retail environment. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop efficient transportation plans that enhance team satisfaction while ensuring cost-effectiveness. Your expertise will contribute to improving delivery accuracy, reducing transportation costs, and ultimately supporting the growth of our outlet stores. What You'll Do
Review inventory for outlets and support inventory sourcing for new store launches. This includes weekly connections with existing locations for replenishment as well.
Set up transportation lanes with help of T&D; plan truckloads to be available at FCs to transport loads to outlets.
Use Wayfair and Wayfair Outlet inventory systems and tools to ensure inventory replenishment runs smoothly from request of inventory to the receipt at the outlet stores.
Identify exceptions such as damage, short shipments, mis shipments, overweight/oversized cartons, etc., and reconcile these issues, engaging Fulfillment Center teams and other partner teams as needed to escalate unresolved issues.
Assist with store managers as needed to collaborate with our Liquidations team to schedule requested outgoing freight (returns, liquidation, donation, disposal) for the outlet stores.
Provide any necessary paperwork for delivery teams, correcting any errors, and maintaining clear and appropriate records.
Write and distribute a weekly report to all L3+ in outlet operations, FC contacts, and any necessary partner teams
Provide feedback on processes and tools to continuously improve
Support outlet operations and other partner teams in efforts to maintain high satisfaction and accurate shipments.
What You'll Need
2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer-centric approach
Ability to prioritize and navigate through various systems and tools
Well organized and detail oriented
Strong data analysis skills are essential as this role requires interpreting metrics and generating actionable insights to improve efficiency and decision making
Comfort with Google Suite and learning new technologies that may be developed in house to improve inventory management and tracking
Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and driving solutions
Experienced in Logistics and/or Transportation industries is preferred
Ability to lift 75+ lbs to assist the warehouse team as needed to support store launches, preferred
BA/BS preferred
