Position. We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, self-motivated, and skilled paralegal to join our team of dynamic, highly-engaged attorneys and legal professionals as Senior Paralegal, Intellectual Property (Trademark) . This position is full-time.
Position Overview. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel , the successful candidate will serve as an effective, trusted advisor on intellectual property law issues across the enterprise.
Position Responsibilities. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:
Trademark Management and Docketing:
Screen, search, analyze, and clear proposed trademarks using publicly available databases
Coordinate non-domestic trademark clearance searches with outside counsel
Prepare trademark applications
Prepare preliminary responses to office actions, statements of use, and extensions of time
Analyze trademark use and specimens to support trademark applications and registration
Prepare declarations of continued use, excusable nonuse, incontestability, and renewals
Manage trademark portfolio, including tracking deadlines and status across all business units
Perform global trademark due diligence searches and draft reports for potential M&A deals
Liaise with business units as the first line of communication for trademark filings, prosecution, renewals, and conflicts (oppositions, cancellations, infringements, UDRPs and counterfeits) and coordinate management of same with in-house counsel and managing paralegal
Conduct fact investigation and analysis regarding trademark infringement and counterfeiting
Draft initial cease and desist letters
Patent Management and Docketing:
Correspond and coordinate patent filings with outside patent counsel
Manage and instruct outside vendor on patent annuities globally
Manage incoming invention disclosure records
Coordinate foreign filing licenses with outside patent counsel
General Intellectual Property Management and Responsibilities:
Correspond with business units regarding corporate intellectual property policies and processes
Liaise with outside intellectual property counsel, business units and in-house counsel
File management for intellectual property matters
Provide general litigation support
Education Paralegal Certificate
Required Position Qualifications & Skills:
7 – 10 years of trademark experience at a law firm or as part of a corporate legal department
Experience with DiamsIQ docketing software or an equivalent IP docketing program
Knowledge of worldwide trademark processes and procedures
Trademark searching and filing experience
Knowledge of worldwide patent process and procedures, preferred
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
Strong judgment, professionalism, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and complete projects in a timely manner
Exceptional attention to detail and precise written work product
Ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy in handling confidential matters
Possess strong interpersonal and ability to communicate effectively with at all levels of the organization
Self-starter attitude, with the ability to exercise independent judgment, critical thinking, and analytical skills
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across the organization’s various departments and work on a team
Strong desire to learn new technology and legal skills

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $97,400.00 - $146,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
