UL, LLC Director Marketing Performance in Northbrook, Illinois

Reporting to the VP, Brand Experience, the Director Marketing Performance is responsible for optimizing our internal marketing processes; supporting the ongoing evolution of our technology stack to ensure go-to-market competitiveness; campaign acceleration, content enabling solutions that advance marketing capabilities and competencies.

This role requires building engagement across the marketing organization, leading a team of process, competency, enablement and technology managers to drive workflow efficiencies, and deliver continuous improvement, knowledge, skills and effectiveness of our marketing efforts. Success in this role is demonstrated by optimized speed and efficiency across the marketing organization and increased return on marketing investment.

The ideal candidate will be a multi-disciplinary marketing leader with a proven ability to drive change and advance marketing operations in a growth-oriented organization. An ability to balance critical compliance requirements with speed-to-market, and design and implement a full process performance cycle that delivers results is essential. This role will partner across Marketing, the broader Commercial organization and IT to deliver impact.

  • Lead continuous, critical internal process and workflow administration in support of twin objectives of speed to market and delivering on organizational priorities with a focus on accelerating business marketing success.

  • Lead process performance tracking, end to end workflow mapping and platform and competency development roadmap (multi-generational roadmaps), understanding frameworks like service blueprinting, cross-functional deployment flowcharting and value stream mapping to operationalize voice or customer and market.

  • Responsible for roadmap and technical administration within marketing-led technologies affecting internal process, including Workfront and AEM Assets among others

  • Lead creation and delivery of centralized training, tools and best practice discipline; specific focus on Brand adoption, marketing capabilities, and business literacy

  • Ongoing focus on professional development programs to support specific needs of marketing professionals

  • Lead dedicated discipline supporting success of internal and external initiatives with expertise, frameworks and guidance to protect brand and business in close collaboration with legal IP and compliance teams.

  • Lead communications of process and projects, education & training and change management activities

  • Responsible for strong partnership with IT, as well as within the Marketing organization

  • Manages the performance of direct reports by developing accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, business operations, economics, or other quantitative disciplines and minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience preferably in a global organization.

  • Results-driven professional with proven abilities in resource modeling, as well as process design, optimization and implementation.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Adobe suite, including Workfront, AEM Assets, and Marketo desired.

  • Ideally, have Lean Six Sigma experience.

  • Expertise in building a vision and gaining team alignment to deliver.

  • Deep functional knowledge of Marketing processes and programs.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and collaboration skills.

  • Strong core delivery skills, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrate a high level of business acumen and ability to understand business processes.

  • Experience managing teams through client-facing activities such as stakeholder workshops and deliverable review/approval sessions
