What to Expect:

We are looking for an Internal Control Specialist at our North York office reporting into the NHSc Senior Finance Director as part of our Nestlé Health Science Finance Team. This role is responsible to support the NHSc Specialty VMHS Leadership Team in evaluating the presence and effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information to ensure compliance with Nestlé policies, instructions, guidelines, and local laws. Recommend, write and coordinate the execution of action plans to improve and maximize business effectiveness and operations.

A day in the life of an Internal Control Specialist

• Conduct continuous risk assessment and Internal Control reviews in all business areas in NHSc S-VMHS business, highlighting opportunities and recommendations aiming at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Internal Control by using appropriate management tools to improve the control environment (guidelines, calendar, RACI and task allocation)

• Trigger and coordinate regular updates of the End to End Risk & Control documents. Play the role of a proactive driver, not only moderating discussions, but tangibly helping Business in mapping risks, design efficient controls and standard routines to ensure sustainable execution.

• Promote Business Best Practices (i.e. Global, Nestle in the Market, Nestle Canada Inc., NHSc, external) and Tools across the organisation and ensure alignment with operational processes

• Ensure that planning tools work efficiently, working procedures are documented (updated and loaded in Cority One and Nestle intranet), and that there is integration and consistency within system and scope

• Monitor timely closure of the action plan to ensure remediation of gaps and closure as per established deadlines.

• Recommend effective segregation of duties controls, perform reviews and follow up. Design and execute defined Compensating Controls in line with the agreed scope and deliver training to compensating controls owners.

Role Requirements

• Completion of University Degree in Finance or Business Administration working towards a recognized Accounting Designation (CPA or CFA).

• Proficiency in English (written and oral) and language of the home market (where applicable).

• 3-5 years of experience as an Auditor, Senior Financial Analyst or comparable role in a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry experience.

• Strong relationship builder with the ability to manage through influence and collaboration

• A self-starter, with strong analytical skills, the ability to prioritize workflow and operate independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
