Abiomed Europe GmbH, Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting a Field Clinical Training & Development Manager (w/m/d) . This person will serve as a clinical and product authority, leading the planning, delivery, and monitoring of consistently top-quality training programs and certification to our field-based patient support team.

The Manager will supervise the day-to-day function of the Clinical Trainers and ensure that new members of the Abiomed team progress along the certification pathway consistent with company standards and that they perform at the highest levels of proficiency, assuring safe and effective application of our products including needs for deep dives and continuing education. Additional responsibilities will also include managing and maintaining content and curricula for new employee trainings, assisting with the creation and implementation continuing education for the field- based support team, and conducting trainings for both commercial field-based and corporate-based company employees. The Manager of Field Clinical Training & Development will collaborate with other departments including Training, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Professional Education, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the team of Clinical Trainers who conduct trainings for new and ongoing field employees using a wide variety of training methods and also support field-based business initiatives.

• Evaluate the needs of field-based Abiomed employees who support cases and train customers; coordinate testing and (re-)certification processes for new field employees; monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success, and ROI, KPIs.

• Act as a best-practices coach to both trainer team and Abiomed field team members. Including heavy focus on Field Travel with trainers & field team (75%).

• Improve patient outcomes by ensuring the field team is properly trained and prepared to support patients on Abiomed products, entering data into IQ database enabling outcome reviews.

• Develop and maintain content and training curricula for employee training; provide opportunities for ongoing development.

• Ensuring team support at international congresses and local events as needed per standardized Operating Procedure.

• Conduct customer-facing educational activities as necessary.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Abiomed field team management or Clinical Trainer experience preferred, with commercial experience strongly preferred.

• Nursing or clinical/technical (radiology, CVT, perfusion, respiratory) degree required. Cardiology experience required (ICU/CCU/CVICU, Cath Lab, CVOR, EP, etc.).

• Extensive experience with Impella heart pumps.

• Must possess a passion for training and education, have previous instructing experience.

• Must be able to motivate and lead a team and have strong interpersonal, coaching, and motivational skills.

• Must be self-reliant; takes initiative, open-minded, and empathic.

• Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written.)

• Requires minimum 75% travel, primarily (but not limited to) the Aachen area – must support and coach team during the monthly IPT.
