Manager, Biomedical Engineering

UHealth/SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a full time Manager, Biomedical Engineering (H) with a hire date of December, 2024. Be part of the UHealth Difference.

The Manager, Biomedical Engineering assumes system-wide responsibility for managing quality assurance and projects related to clinical technology. Moreover, this position provides guidance and oversight to biomedical staff, and manages adverse event reports with regards to medical equipment.

  • Oversees all recalls on medical equipment, including management of vendors' responses and actions.

  • Works with principal investigators, and manages equipment evaluations.

  • Ensures compliance with policies, accreditation standards, and licensing regulations.

  • Prepares performance reports for medical equipment.

  • Manages projects related to clinical technology assessments, acquisitions, and implementations.

  • Administers department budget, and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance.

  • Sets standards for performance and quality, and develops department policies and procedures.

  • Collaborates with leadership to develop strategic plans for the acquisition and management of medical devices.

  • Plans and coordinates education initiatives related to medical devices and associated systems.

  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.

  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

    Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
