The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) Information Systems Group is seeking an Information Systems Engineer to ensure the successful program execution for an Air Force Research Laboratory customer.
Candidate must have experience with cloud-based services (AWS or Azure) . Job listing skills are AWS centric, but equivalent Azure experience is acceptable. Candidate must be detail-oriented with good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. It is critical to be able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment, be self-motivated, reliable and execute tasks independently.

Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
At least 2 years cloud experience and an AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification
Experience collaborating with project managers to understand program requirements and develop effective solutions
Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities, proven teamwork skills that foster a positive work environment, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities & Duties:
Plan, design, and integrate cloud-based infrastructure and services
Configure and maintain VPC networking, EC2 instance deployment, and autoscaling
Perform system administration tasks such as system hardening, patching, vulnerability scanning
Manage cloud environments in accordance with customers' security guidelines
Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed, following best practices throughout the development lifecycle
Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
Employ proactive problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues before they escalate
Assist in the design, deployment, and maintenance of networks
Recommended Skills and Experience:
Experience migrating on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based services
Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration
Experience working with OpenStack, Rackspace, Kubernetes, and Docker
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Services
In-depth knowledge of AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, EBS, Lambda, and RDS
Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services
Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, VPN infrastructure, load balancing, application firewalls, and distributed networks
Knowledge of performance monitoring and optimization techniques
AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification preferred; equivalent Azure certifications accepted
Master's degree in a technical discipline preferred
Proficient in using Git for version control, including branching, merging, and pull request workflows
Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Python’s Boto, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) for provisioning and managing cloud resources
