Our client in North Las Vegas has an exciting opportunity in a fast paced working environment for an Operations Technician! This role would be a great fit for someone coming from a military background in electronics and network maintenance. This position is a contract position for about 6 months before converting to full time employment.

Candidates should come with at least 2 years of experience as a technician in a satellite communications environment with working knowledge of TCP/IP. An Associates is the minimum level of education required for this role. This position is also very dynamic so candidates must be comfortable working in an environment that could vary in different shift types. responsibilities:

• Operate within a highly complex communications network, ensuring 99.99% system uptime with zero defects as a key team member.

• Engage in system monitoring, routine preventive maintenance, customer issue tracking, and network problem resolution for all networking aspects essential to backend systems.

• Handle system administration, network monitoring/management, new buildouts, network changes/maintenance, IP and system infrastructure upkeep.

• Diagnose technical problems, identify root causes, and develop procedural and technical recommendations for improvement.

• Plan and manage the implementation of new products into the production environment.

• Monitor system limitations to optimize capacity and efficiency.

• Conduct equipment-level capacity planning and network performance activities.

• Maintain inventory and configuration management records, including software releases, patches, and hardware changes.

• Ensure compliance with Data Center Standards, Service Management Quality Program, and ITIL standards.

• Manage escalation and emergency response requests in a 24/7/365 environment, with occasional work during maintenance windows outside of normal working hours.

• Oversee power, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and local security and monitoring systems.

• Proactively identify issues, create tickets to capture all details accurately, follow documented escalation procedures, use the notification system to communicate issues to customer service and upper management, and troubleshoot events promptly.

• Adapt to evolving responsibilities and duties, emphasizing communication, flexibility, and adaptability.
