Minimum Requirements:
New York State Teaching Assistant or Teacher Certification.
Must be able to participate in the following mandatory session:
Summer Program Training - Tuesday, July 1 8:00-3:00
Summer Program dates: July 7-August 14

Desired Qualifications:
Experience working with students in grades Universal PreK, kindergarten, first grade, or second grade is desired;
Child-centered, developmentally appropriate approach to classroom support is desired;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Strong organizational skills;
Must be flexible, responsible, and dependable;
Daily attendance is expected.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
Provides direct instruction to individual students or small groups of students under the general supervision of a certified teacher in support of the instructional plan;
Provides teacher with information about students that will assist the teachers in the development of appropriate learning experiences;
Assists students in the use of available instructional resources;
Utilizes their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs;
Assists teacher in related instructional work as required;
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The purpose of the program is to offer students a “jump start” into the school year by providing our youngest learners who have not experienced a pre-kindergarten or preschool program with language, speaking and listening, literacy, and social opportunities prior to the start of kindergarten.
