Job Description

Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

· New Product Development (NPD) Planner (40%)

o Work with engineering to determine timeline and material required dates for projects

o Create shop orders and update product structure(s) on shop orders, as needed

o Track, monitor, and report; material statuses, shortages, and delivery dates weekly.

o Attend the weekly meetings as needed

· Glider Planning Support (40%)

o Acts as the primary back up and support for Glider planning. This would entail shipping line items, identifying material shortages, sending out OP’s, reviewing ECO’s, replying to emails, assisting Glider repair technicians, and the production floor as needed.

o Attend the weekly Glider IPT meeting

o Allocates and Glider repair materials based on forecast, reports on quarterly consumption. and coordinates deliveries to the repair warehouse

o Aligns Glider production material shortages due to quality issues (MRBs), Service needs (quarterly material planning), and late-to-deliver procurement of materials

· Additional Responsibilities (20%)

o Provide ongoing support in production planning initiatives across all product lines

o Coordinates all MRB’s and rework shop orders and provides regular status updates, by working cross-functionally with manufacturing engineers and procurement

o Reviews all engineering MR’s (Material Requisitions) and allocates materials by working with each planner to confirm their availability.

o Work with procurement and production to ensure material is available to end users in time to meet customer commitments

Education and Experience :

· Associates degree (A.S.) in a related field and/or 2 years of directly related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Thorough understanding of bills of material

· Works well in a team environment and cross-functionally

· Knowledge of MRP and working with various ERP systems

· Experience or knowledge of capacity planning & scheduling

· Proficient in Excel; experience with all MSOffice products

· Excellent communications skills both written and verbal

· Experience with IFS preferred

· Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a “US Person” (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees)

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

· Strong analytical skills

· Demonstrated success in planning in a dynamic, ever changing, high mix, low volume environment

· Familiarity with inventory control and transactions

· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities

· Ability to rapidly response to requests for information

· Communicate clearly to all levels within the organization (verbal and written)

Training Requirements :

· IFS training

· HSE/Quality Overview

· Hazardous Communications

Personal Protective Equipment :

· In accordance with Teledyne Marine Systems safety policies

· The use of Safety Glasses is required throughout all production areas of the facility

· Occasional Lifting up to 10 pounds to include, laptop computer or inventory parts

Work Environment :

· This position requires periods of working behind a desk, performing tasks on computer

· Considerable periods of standing or walking throughout the facility to interface with other associates
