Job Description

This position reports to the Director, PCS Finance – directly supporting the development programs of specific TAs within Pipeline Commercialization and Strategy. The primary objective of this position is to provide financial leadership for enterprise critical processes: Long Range Plan (LRP), the Annual Plan process, Portfolio Prioritization & Asset Governances for Global Pipeline Assets. In addition, this position will be responsible for providing financial analysis, recommendations and decision-making support to commercial and financial leadership as well as leading the transfer of knowledge from Global to each of the International Areas.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Drive planning and analysis for Oncology Pipeline Assets, leading annual planning cycles (LRP & Plan), as well as Portfolio Prioritization & Asset Governances. This requires cross functional work with key partner functions such as PCS Forecasting, PCS VP, IMCO and US VPs and GMs, Alliance Accounting, Decision Support Group, Global Medical Affairs, Global Market Access, BU Controllers, and International Areas

  • Develop tools to plan, track and analyze the new asset performance. This includes the development of Asset specific Commercial Models to monitor and plan the elements of the brand performance.

  • Act as strategic partner to PCS GMs and VPs by providing financial advice supporting the asset strategy. In particular, assist in asset launch preparation through the development of brand guidance, SG&A investment analysis.

  • Be the interface with the Areas for transitioning the asset between PCS and the commercial organization. Transfer knowledge and tools to Area finance teams and support business teams in the transition. Prepare guidance for the annual LRP and Plan processes, supporting Areas in constructing the story

  • Serve as a strategic partner for target functions - provide clear and concise narrative, robust financials and deliverables for review with Executive Management.

  • Support and contribute to R&D funds allocation process like Portfolio & Governances by providing sound financial inputs and P&Ls for pipeline products

  • Leads ad hoc requests, projects and process improvements as needed

  • Plan and Monitor the PCS budget by TA, identify risks and opportunities, identifying potential remediation actions. Improve process and visibility to the budgets and actuals.

  • Staff Development – Responsible for delegating to and coaching a staff of employees to ensure an optimal level of support to the business and provide coaching and career development opportunities to sustain a high performing staff.

  • Individual is expected to successfully perform all responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Requires 7+ years progressive FP&A experience in the pharma industry, at different level (affiliate, region, area, global or US)

  • Ability to influence without direct authority.

  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Effective communication skills, able to summarize complex business dynamics into deliverables for executives

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Mastery in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of SAP and BPC a plus

  • Ability to think broadly and lead processes independently

  • Ability to challenge the status quo through innovation and bold thinking.

  • Initiative-taker capable of working in a deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to recognize key issues and effectively communicate those to management.

  • Excellent people skills, including the ability and desire to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with others throughout the business and finance organizations.

  • Experience of managing and developing a team
