Job Description

Purpose:

Independently design and perform experiments using various laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and software systems. Develop analytical methods, perform data evaluation, and present results to project teams in PDS&T organization. Document experiments in lab notebook, prepare reports and presentations for extended team. Develop and deploy Process Analytical Technology methods for inline/online/at-line/offline analysis and lab based analytical methods to support analytical development

Responsibilities:

  • Develop inline/online/at-line/offline methods in Liquid Chromatography, spectroscopy, and support manufacturing campaign in plants.

  • Good communication skills to negotiate deliverables and inform supervisor of challenges, achievements, and progress on assigned tasks.

  • Apply basic scientific principles to research.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies/reagents, when appropriate

  • Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.

  • Learn and understand new experimental techniques.

  • Ensures safety and any GxP requirements are met when performing tasks.

  • Learn and effectively implement new experimental protocols and/or techniques.

  • Perform data collection, analysis, interpretation, and visualization, using various techniques and tools.

  • Drug Product PAT support in using Raman and NIR spectroscopy to monitor and control the process parameters and product attributes, such as temperature, pressure, concentration, particle size, and moisture content, in real-time and non-destructively.

  • PAT using Online Analysis for online LC to monitor and control the process parameters and product attributes in real-time.

  • Automated NIR method development as necessary and testing of product quality attribute.

  • Process Engineering support in developing and optimizing the process design and scale-up, as well as testing and validating the process robustness and reliability, by using fit for purpose analytical tools including Raman and NIR spectroscopy.

  • Rapid Spectroscopy (TRS and NIR) support in the lab

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in chemistry, biology, engineering, or a related field, and at least one year of experience in applied PAT, preferably in the Pharma industry. The candidate should also have basic technical, analytical, and communication skills, as well as familiarity with using chromatography, spectroscopy tools and software, such as Raman, inline IR, NIR, TRS, Online LC, OPUS, and Unscrambler.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
