Robert Half Accounting Clerk in North Charleston, South Carolina

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the Construction/Contractor industry. This role will be based in North Charleston, South Carolina. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be crucial in maintaining the financial health of our operations, with key responsibilities including handling credit card payments, accounts receivable, and assisting with payroll and accounts payable tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Handle credit card payments from clients and maintain accurate records of transactions

• Oversee accounts receivable and collections efforts to ensure timely payments

• Assist with payroll administration to ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time

• Provide support with accounts payable tasks, ensuring all vendor invoices are processed and paid in a timely manner

• Utilize Spectrum software for various accounting tasks (training will be provided)

• Manage data entry tasks to maintain accurate financial records

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word for various administrative and reporting tasks

• Contribute to the construction accounting processes by providing accurate and timely financial information

• Handle invoice processing tasks, ensuring all invoices are accurate and paid on time

• Conduct account reconciliation tasks to ensure all financial records are accurate. Requirements • Demonstrable experience in the construction industry, with a focus on construction accounting

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with billing procedures and invoice processing

• Strong data entry skills with a keen attention to detail

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel for creating spreadsheets and financial reports

• Experience in handling payroll, including deductions, benefits, and taxes

• Ability to manage credit card payments and receipts efficiently

• Knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices

• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex accounting issues

• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
