SMBC Sr. Software Engineer - AI/ML (Remote) in North Carolina

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $85,000.00 and $170,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

JOB SUMMARY:
Jenius Software Engineers are developing the next-generation technologies for the bank of the future. Our financial products will need to handle data information at scale with aspirations of being the bank of the future. As a Sr. Software Engineer – Machine Learning, you will work on Jenius’ needs to enable AI/ML capabilities for every domain bank operates with. We need our Engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the AI/ML stack as we continue to push technology forward.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
Implement AI/ML Practices
Enable and implement ML Operations and ML Lifecycle best practices.
Work with Cross functional teams on ML/AI Use cases.
Perform ML /AI engineering activities, working in collaboration with the Product and Data teams.
Implement ML infrastructure solutions.
Solve complex problems by writing and testing application code, developing and validating ML models, and automating test and deployment.
Collaborate as part of cross-functional Agile Team
Prepare and deliver optimized data pipelines.
Understand and implement GenAI use cases.
Use programming languages such as Python, R, Scala or Java
Leverage continuous integration and deployment best practices, including test automation and monitoring.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
GCP, Data, Vertex AI, MLOps, LLMOps, Gen AI, Predictive Modeling, Python, Docker
3+ years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning, or natural language processing, GCP and Azure GenAI and ML products knowledge
3+ years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
Knowledge of MLOps and Machine Learning Life Cycle, integration, and implementation of phases of Machine Learning
Understanding and knowledge of Google AI/ML portfolio including Vertex AI, BQML, Gen AI and Duet AI
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.
