JBT Corporation Senior Machine Technician (Electrical) in North Carolina, United States

Overview ... This position’s primary responsibility is to ensure effective operation and continuous improvement of clip manufacturing. The incumbent is required to work with the production staff at multiple clip production facilities and facilitate the training and oversight of clip and/or loop production as needed. In addition, the incumbent may be required to set-up and operate machine shop tools used to fabricate, alter or repair manufacturing equipment as directed, as well as inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance on electrical drive components. This could include coordinating with outside vendors and/or electrical control specialists, as needed. The Opportunity ... Train and assist production personnel in troubleshooting and solving problems with clip or loop manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment drives and other electrical components as needed. Work with outside vendors/contractors/engineers as needed and be part of improvement initiatives to replace and/or upgrade electrical components that become obsolete. Assist in fabricating replacement parts and assemblies for clip manufacturing equipment using standard tool room equipment and inspection devices as directed by management. Assemble and test new production equipment as directed by management. Actively participate in routine maintenance of manufacturing equipment as needed, providing technical support and skills as required. Based on business necessity, there may be times when working in clip production may be required in order to meet customer demand. Participate in process improvement initiatives, working in both team and independent roles to promote increased efficiencies and improved product quality in all Tipper Tie related facilities. Maintain clean and safe personal and team workspaces that promote efficient utilization of resources. Why work at JBT ... Minimum associate degree in engineering, electrical or mechanical systems, or other related discipline, or an equivalent/acceptable amount of industry experience. Minimum 5 years of production equipment maintenance with experience working on and/or servicing electrical drives. Capable of reading and understanding electrical schematics and diagrams, as well as blueprints and/or mechanical drawings. Possess troubleshooting skills both electrically and mechanically, capable of diagnosing potential problems/issues with mechanical and electrical components. Ability to use most standard tool room inspection equipment. Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision. Must be assertive and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously involving many groups. Preferred Education/Skills Bachelor degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Tool & Die Making Ability to weld and perform repairs on broken or worn components or assemblies (preferred). Possess welding certificates (preferred) Good oral and written communication skills. Intermediate level proficiency in standard office software (preferred).
