Stark State College Institutional Research and Planning Coordinator in North Canton, Ohio
Stark State College is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Institutional Research & Planning Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support the College's decision-making, compliance, and strategic initiatives. Acting as the Higher Education Information (HEI) system liaison, you will ensure timely and accurate submissions to the Ohio Department of Higher Education, directly influencing institutional funding and operational insights. Your expertise in business intelligence and analytics will empower academic and administrative leaders by developing robust models, solving complex problems, and advancing institutional effectiveness. Stark State is looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in data analysis, statistical methods, and research practices, combined with proficiency in business intelligence tools and software such as SQL, Oracle SQL*Plus and or PL/SQL programming. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights. The ideal individual would possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have familiarity with higher education data systems and practices. Typical Responsibilities Include: Assist in the development of reports and submission of information to HEI to determine funding for the College. Plan, prepare, and produce a variety of regular and ad hoc queries, reports, and publications to meet external regulations and internal needs. Assist IT in the development and maintenance of Institutional Research and Planning reports in ARGOS and other reports related to HEI file submissions. Assist in the compilation of information on the environmental factors affecting the College by such means as survey research and the extraction of data from administrative systems, user guides and documentation. Interact with deans, department chairs, faculty and staff to develop business intelligence models and solve problems. Provide assistance and support in the identification, methods of statistical analysis and reporting of benchmark data in support of strategic planning and institutional effectiveness. Participate in professional organizations, conferences, and workshops to keep informed of current ideas, research, and practices related to the responsibilities of the position. To be Considered You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Computer Science, or Business or directly related field required. Three years of professional experience in institutional research and assessment or IT is required. Background in producing reports and documentation to support decision-making; professional experience with databases and data warehouses, structured queries and data retrieval, and the use of data to support strategic planning and operational management.
