The Brand Operations Department – Core Brands is the team that is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the hotel/customer facing brand programs and initiatives that support each brand’s strategy. As a key member of our Brand Operations – Core Brands department, you will be instrumental in the development of programs and initiatives to help drive guest satisfaction, brand consistency and Return on Investment (ROI) to our Franchisees.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Brand Strategy teams to generate and refine ideas and concepts for new or enhanced brand amenities, hallmarks, and programs, ensuring they drive guest satisfaction and deliver a strong return on investment for franchisees.

  • Lead the strategic evaluation of potential brand programs through pilot testing, quantifying their likely impact on guests, operators, and overall performance, and measuring results against established goals and objectives.

  • Work closely with the Brand Operations team to design and implement rollout plans for new or improved brand amenities, hallmarks, and programs across properties.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and innovations, communicating relevant insights that may influence guest satisfaction and brand differentiation.

  • Develop and translate ideas and initiatives for further development and potential inclusion into brand standards.

  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure clear communication and consensus on brand initiatives.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on programs that drive guest satisfaction and property performance, creating educational content for associates and owners/operators on the requirements for success.

  • Represent the brand strategy perspective in collaboration with the Director of Brand Operations, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in related field in Business, Marketing related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in hotel operations, brand management, product management, marketing, consulting, or other relevant field, including supervisory experience.

  • Prior experience in a hospitality franchise organization is preferred.

  • Strong track record of success in translating organizational strategy to business plans and execution, including building business cases, gaining internal/external support, and directing results-oriented implementation.

  • Strong business acumen: proven success in collaborating with business leaders across organizational lines toensure a solutions-focused approach to supporting achievement of corporate business objectives.

  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously, leading fromconcept through implementation in a fast-paced matrix environment. PMP certification is preferred.

  • Excellent leadership skills, proven ability to collaborate and develop relationships with associates at alllevels and to drive results in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create clear messaging across a varietyof audiences.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Your Team

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Senior Director, Brand Operations. You will have four peer teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

Your Work Location

As our Director Brand Operations – Upper Midscale Brands, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.

Right now, our associates in corporate headquarters are working in a hybrid environment, 3-4 days per week in the office and virtually from your home office the remaining days. We provide flexibility and encourage ongoing communication with your leadership to establish expectations about your unique needs.
