Job Description: Position Title: Production Specialist - Paint (Powder Coat) Location: North Bend, WA Reporting to: Production Supervisor Open to Relocation: No On-Site/Hybrid/Remote: On-Site Travel Required: 0% Genie sets the standard by which other lifts are judged. Performs routine to moderately complex tasks in connection with the prepping, loading, unloading and powder coating of steel substrates in a production environment. Distinguishing Characteristics: The Production Specialist is a broadly defined position that encompasses three levels of competency or skill development. The first or entry level is for new hires to learn the product line, manufacturing process and philosophy, and perform powder application. The second level requires the ability to troubleshoot equipment and exhibit a general understanding of powder coatings. The third level would require the ability to perform satisfactorily at all workstations, identify problems, perform routine maintenance on equipment, and instruct new employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Some or all of the following duties are performed depending on skill, experience level and powder system: Load and unload steel parts onto carts or on to a moving conveyor. Inspect the powder coat finish on painted parts. Be able to perform small areas of touch-up to the parts. Applies powder coatings to steel substrates. Must be able to apply coatings within acceptable quality standards (film build and appearance). Should be able to identify minor issues with finish. Demonstrates the ability to clean and maintain powder coat spraying equipment and powder booths. Should be able to identify minor issues with the equipment. Demonstrates the ability to train new TMs how to apply powder coatings in accordance to quality standards. Applies "Just in Time" production techniques to promote maximum machine operations. Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position. Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills The position requires a working knowledge of the procedures and techniques in the application of powder coatings. Requires a basic knowledge of paint equipment maintenance. Must have an in-depth knowledge of safe work practices. Requires sufficient human relations skills to receive and communicate technical instructions, orient new team members, and maintain harmony in a small work team of diverse backgrounds. Abilities Requires the ability to perform all of the essential duties in the area of powder coatings application with minimal supervision. Must be able to use and maintain all of the tools and equipment used during the routine performance of duties. Must be able to use thermometers, film build gauges, and other inspection equipment. Requires ability to identify and analyze application equipment and coatings quality problems and implement appropriate remedy. Must have a willingness to learn and participate in a cross-training environment. Physical Abilities Must be able to wear a supplied air respirator system. Requires ambulatory ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, and bend on a continuous basis. Requires the ability to lift, pull, push, and guide medium weight objects (20-40 pounds) on a continuous basis. Must be able to use rotating devices to position steel parts for coatings application. Requires sufficient hand-eye coordination, arm-hand dexterity and visual acuity including depth perception to apply powder coatings. Requires auditory
