Job Description: Job description This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer that will support our warehouse functions in North Bend, WA. Main Duties and Responsibilities Increase production and operation efficiency by establishing work methods and sequence of operations, optimizing utilization of production facilities and labor. This includes ergonomic analysis, workflow analysis, capacity studies, plant layout changes and equipment improvements to support warehouse operations. Plan and lead the installation and sequencing of workstations, tools, parts and supplies to optimize the efficiency of the warehouse. Analyze part storage, order picking paths and optimize manual picking operation by improved storage methods, picking strategies and location. Evaluates new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and warehousing operations. Coordinates with stakeholders to develop improvement plans which support established manufacturing methods, practices, and designs. Applies statistical measures to estimate future manufacturing requirements. Researches and recommends parts, supply, and maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and servicing schedules at the pace production requires. Manage large scale projects around plant layout and equipment specification. Conducts periodic inspections of various aspects of the warehousing operation including put-away, picking and packaging processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering (BS in Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Electrical, Industrial, Civil or Aeronautical) that is ABET accredited. 3 - 5 years of experience of warehouse and distribution center processes. Strong computer knowledge with demonstrated experience with WMS programs, Oracle preferred and strong Excel skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior project or leadership experience. Specialized professional knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of mechanical or industrial engineering in an industrial environment. Working knowledge of Solidworks, AutoCad or equivalent programs. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork. Technical writing skills sufficient to prepare product specifications, test, and process documentation. Ability to problem solve using statistical analysis and critical thinking skills. Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints. Demonstrated ability to convert engineering principles into actionable production plans. Prior knowledge and practice with Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, and Total Quality Management. Ambulatory ability to walk and stand on a continuous basis; to bend, stoop, and kneel on an intermittent basis; to lift medium weight objects up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
