Tog Manufacturing Inside Sales Estimator in North Adams, Massachusetts

Summary: This position is responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates of material costs, labor hours, subcontract costs and delivery cycle, create estimates to effectively communicate to cross functional teams for customer proposals; requires minimal supervision. Essential Functions: - Create estimates by analyzing customer drawing and bills of materials, prepare quoting BOM and Routing to develop estimated cost, including outside services like machining, plating and heat treating. - Interact with customer via phone and email to collect information about products, specifications, outage information and pricing requirements, coordinate requests for information between TOG and the customer. - Ensure most accurate estimates are provided to Management and Sales. - Create estimates for duplicate jobs by investigating historical data and update pricing. - Continually update material and labor costs. - Secure multiple quotes for subcontract services such as machining, forming, rolling, plating and heat treating. - Ensure estimates are reviewed as required. - Accept work assignment(s), as needed that could require additional training. - Contribute to and support the improvement and continuance of quality programs and the company\'s team concept; ensures effective efforts are made at all times to accomplish the company\'s mission. - Supply material, shop labor hours, engineering and drafting hour\'s breakdown by component. - Research and recommends improvements in estimating procedures contributing to the efficiency of the department. - Confer with supervisor on consistent basis to keep abreast of current costs and other related information for estimating purposes. - Perform other duties, special projects and presentation for executive management, as required. Technical Skills: - Working knowledge of related manufacturing processes including cutting, forming, shaping, machining, plating, heat treating. - Thorough knowledge of fabrication processes, shop standards, and materials. - Ability to read and interpret drawings and to understand customer specifications. - Ability to operate PC with knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software packages. - Basic math skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. - Ability to type on a keyboard and operate a PC. - Ability to converse over a telephone. Education: Associate degree in Sales or Marketing or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience considered at the discretion of management. Experience: Three years of sales or estimating experience, and knowledge of machining in a manufacturing environment. Related experience considered at the discretion of management.
