DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Nurse Manager 1, you will oversee the continuity of nursing care and services for individuals with mental or physical injury, illnesses, or developmental disabilities. You will ensure that all medical, psychiatric, and nursing regimes provide optimum care and treatment for patients. This will involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating all nursing services operations; collaborating with peers to maintain consistency of care; and promoting quality improvement of nursing services. Additionally, you will supervise staff, review training needs, and evaluate effectiveness of work performance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40-hour work week. Work hours are 3rd shift, 11:15 PM to 7:15 AM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You must be able to flex your schedule to accommodate labor management meetings approximately four times per month on day shift. Schedule is subject to operational needs. Training schedule will be 1st shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Overtime as needed. Free parking! Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as a Registered Nurse Supervisor or three years as a Registered Nurse Instructor (commonwealth titles) in a facility providing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; or Six years of professional nursing experience, which includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; and a bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration. A master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration may be substituted for up to one year of the required general professional nursing work experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability. Special Requirements: You are required to have active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
