DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Forensic Social Worker 1, you will be providing direct supervision to social work staff on assigned units in the forensic sections of Norristown State Hospital to ensure that services are provided efficiently within established time frames in accordance with all regulatory and professional standards. You will be responsible for completing Biopsychosocial Assessments as well as participating in developing, coordinating and facilitating treatment plans in conjunction with other clinical treatment team members. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on services, review of reports, as well as assist with admissions and coordinate discharges on assigned units.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. FREE PARKING! Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Work schedule may change based on operational needs. Overtime and travel may be required. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's or master's degree in social work or social welfare. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
