County of Montgomery Assistant Solicitor in Norristown, Pennsylvania
This position provides legal representation to the County, its Departments and personnel in a variety of contexts described below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handles general administrative legal matters for Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth (OCY);
- Represents OCY at dependency hearings;
- Represents OCY at shelter care hearings, adjudication and disposition hearings, review hearings and termination of parental rights hearings;
- Regularly communicates and meets with OCY caseworkers;
- Review contracts or other agreements entered into by the County on behalf of OCY;
- Responds to written record requests and reviews and redacts produced records to ensure compliance with confidentiality laws and regulations;
- May on occasion be called upon to handle non-OCY legal matters in special circumstances.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- Member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar;
- At least one year of experience practicing law;
- Familiarity with and interest in Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law;
- Excellent abilities of communication and persuasion, both verbal and written;
- Excellent abilities of legal analysis and strategy.
