Amentum Configuration Manager in Norfolk, Virginia

Amentum is seeking a Configuration Manager to facilitate operations and maintenance support of naval vessels, systems, and related ship support infrastructure. As the Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for Configuration Management (CM) planning and describe provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. You will apply specific knowledge of policies and procedures and an understanding of other functions relevant to CM in your daily role. Locations for this role include Washington, DC and Norfolk, VA. This role will be hybrid (combined remote and on-site).

Estimate hiring salary range: 105-160k (salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

Essential responsibilities and daily duties will include:

  • Collaborate daily with the Program Management Office (PMO) team to define, coordinate, and track the status of program tasks and engineering changes and change instructions, maintain metrics, and advise on technical and configuration management planning and implementation.

  • Research and analyze issues and problems in acquisition, engineering design changes, change impacts to design interface, cost, and logistics; determine alternatives; and recommend approaches/solutions.

  • Coordinate activities and tasks for configuration management planning, identification, change control, audit/verification, and status accounting.

  • Ensure strong emphasis on configuration planning, identifying and maintaining original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, software, and related documentation.

  • Conduct analyses, studies, process development, problem identification and resolution, requirements definition, program planning and implementation.

  • Prepare correspondence, plans, and reports for assigned program(s) and customer(s).

  • Develop and/or review program reports, technical papers, drawings, specifications, procedures, etc.; provide comments; and organize, consolidate, adjudicate comments from various organizations, and prepare reports.

  • Prepare program management correspondence, (i.e., letters, memoranda, and route sheets); develop plans, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations. Prepare analytical reports and meeting minutes.

  • Advise the PMO Team and customer configuration manager(s) as subject matter expert on program planning, development, and implementation of configuration management functions to meet customer program goals and objectives.

  • Interface daily with various engineering, program management, and logistics task leaders to exchange information and coordinate related task performance.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in the fielding of shipboard Hull, Mechanical, & Electrical (HM&E), electronic, communication, and weapon systems including a practical background in the configuration of ship systems.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to work onsite and remote.

  • Ability to obtain a secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a secret clearance.

  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS (up to 25%). Ability to obtain a United States Passport.
