Continental Production Supervisor in Norfolk, Nebraska

THE POSITION:

The Supervisor provides leadership and support for the hourly workforce to ensure overall business objectives are obtained. These objectives include but are not limited to safety, production, quality, cost and delivery. Additionally, the Supervisor will work with teams to implement process improvements and management initiatives. Included in the endeavor is active participation in the Continental Business System (Lean) activities to reduce product and process variation and eliminate waste.

• Perform as a first-level leader within a hose manufacturing facility, providing coaching, support and direction to members of a High Performance Work Team.

• Provide tactical business leadership necessary to ensure the facility meets and/or exceed goals in critical manufacturing success areas (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost)

• Lead and develop Team Leaders

• Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems

• Promote positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution

• Manage payroll timekeeping and concerns

• Conduct regular team meetings which include effective communication of organizational and policy changes across shifts

• Conduct layered process auditing and follow-up

• Provide performance feedback and coaching to team members via appraisals and/or other documentation

• Facilitate effective sharing of information across work teams and functional areas

• Track plant budgets as applicable, take appropriate actions to ensure that plant budget goals are achieved

• Work and/or attend meetings during other shifts (including off-shifts and/or weekends) as necessary

• Demonstrate ability to coach, problem solve and troubleshoot

• Additional duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2+ years of manufacturing background including 1 year of leadership experience.

• Ability to work rotating shift with flexibility for meetings, etc.

• Strong leadership, people and organizational skills

• Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint

• Experience working in a Lean environment

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

• No relocation offered. Position is eligible for a sign-on bonus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • SAP experience

  • Ability to apply and teach Lean Mfg. tools and concepts

  • Experience working in a High-Performance Team environment

  • Associate degree preferably in Business Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Management or other related field

  • 2+ years of Leadership experience with 3 manufacturing experience.
