We are setting up Excel Noida team with the work areas of Excel CoPilot and Charts.

This is an exciting time as AI is poised to fundamentally change the way people use software, and we believe that Copilot in Excel will be an important part of that revolution. As an engineer on Excel Copilot, you will be unlocking the power of Excel for novice and experienced users alike, building new ways for users to analyze, transform, and present their spreadsheets, and working at the cutting edge of new technology. Previous experience with AI is not required for this role.

Excel charts are a powerful feature that transform raw data into visually compelling representations, making it easier for users to interpret, analyze, and present information. By converting complex datasets into various chart formats such as bar, line, pie, and scatter plots, Excel empowers users to quickly identify trends, patterns, and outliers. The interactive elements of Excel charts, such as dynamic updates and customizable features, allow users to tailor their visualizations to specific needs and preferences, ensuring that the data is presented in the most meaningful way possible. Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager on the Excel Noida team, you will lead key areas of Excel CoPilot & Charts. You will be empowered to have end-to-end ownership for your areas including design, code, test and telemetry coverage. You’ll partner deeply across disciplines as well as across partner teams to help deliver results that delight our customers.

As a leader on the team, you will also be:

• Owning complete solutions across their entire lifecycle.

• Drive the overall architecture of solution and infrastructure within the team and across the organization.

• Work closely across teams and disciplines to shape the solutions and make sure they provide value to our customers.

• Drive solution implementation across feature crews.

• Comply with project plans and industry standards.

• Foster a culture of agility, innovation, and customer focus within the team.

• Lead by example high level of technical excellence, including but not limited to participating in design, code and test reviews.

• Mentor more junior team members professionally.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java, TypeScript,OR Python.

• 8+ years of experience in building and shipping production grade software and services, writing code in an object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, C#, Python, TypeScript, etc.

• Demonstrated experience in shipping high-quality products or services.

• Experience delivering successful Web or Cloud projects.

• You’ve led – you have experience leading a team of engineers by setting clear expectations, keeping team members energized, and delivering great results.

• You collaborate – you can explain your work, you can ask great questions, you can listen to your peers and your customers, you can influence without authority, and you like to give and receive feedback.

• You stay focused – you want to ship software that solves real problems for real people, now.

• You’re a professional – you understand that it’s not enough to write working code. It must also be well-designed, easy to test, and easy to add to over time.

• You’re learning – no matter how much you know, you are always seeking to learn more and to become a better engineer and leader.  

Other Requirements

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working on distributed systems and/or high-performance systems.

• Strong cross-discipline and cross group collaboration skills.

• Strong problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
