UnitedHealth Group Senior Manager, Technical Product Manager in Noida, India

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products, from product definition and planning through production, release and end-of-life

  • Responsible for management of the full product lifecycle with a technical focus, including the strategy, design, development, management and end-of-life of new, existing or acquired products

  • Leverages market insights and emerging technology developments and trends to understand market/customer needs, as well as identify new opportunities or make adjustments to current product offerings

  • Balances deep subject matter expertise with knowledge of business use cases and solid technical aptitude

  • Accountable for delivering product performance in alignment with expectations, and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position and produce optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs

  • Accountable to and/or owns the P&L, and is responsible for cross-functional stakeholder management, to include (but not limited to) design, engineering, scrum teams, business leaders, etc., functioning as technical expert with a fluency in development concepts and modern development practices

  • Positions in this function may require a background or degree in computer science or engineering

  • Drive product vision and strategy roadmap

  • Engage appropriate enterprise-wide stakeholders to enable awareness and alignment

  • Lead the product across its entire lifecycle using defined processes and industry best practices

  • Know the market, to effectively identify and frame new technology products

  • Define solutions with high-value requirements, a compelling business case, clear product positioning, priority and strategic impact

  • Partner with stakeholders to enable successful development, delivery, and adoption of technology solutions

  • Manage ongoing product performance, expansion, financial health, roadmap and end-of-life decision as appropriate

  • Serve as the product champion and apply deep expertise to credibly represent, manage and engage with business(es)

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • Ability to work with product manager and business to obtain voice of customer (VOC) and identify capabilities to add to the product

  • Ability to define and provide direction for user experience and user interface (if applicable to product)

  • Ability to create user documentation (if applicable to product)

  • Ability to create and communicate the value proposition via internal marketing material for product promotion

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of lean product management best practices and frameworks.

  • Ability to understand capabilities across the portfolio / product line.

  • Not prescriptive, with theoretical definitions of what’s needed in every scenario. Instead, you consider the challenge, dependencies, constraints, and apply the right tools based on your knowledge of various product management methodologies/frameworks.

  • Ability to understand cross customer deliverables between product lines

  • Ability to partner appropriately to support dependencies

  • Ability to partner appropriately across the portfolio to minimize overlapping work

  • Ability to ensure high-level roadmap alignment across portfolios where required

  • Effectively looks ‘up and out’ to influence multi-portfolio capabilities and their dependencies; enables on-time delivery via manageable features/stories coordinated across teams

  • Ability to negotiate win-win solutions across teams and lines of business (cross application / cross portfolio)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all senior stakeholders (up to Senior Leadership)

  • Ability to clearly communicates strategic portfolio direction via multi-year roadmap

  • Ability to ensure user stories and features are directly tied to OKRs

  • Ability to ensure overall product strategy and Roadmap are executed.

  • Ability to drive the budget at scrum team/product level.

  • Ability to speak credibly to both business and technology partners across teams and levels

  • Ability to clearly communicates strategic portfolio direction via multi-year roadmap

  • Ability to understand the infrastructure/technology/flow of product

  • Ability to understand the system components and how they integrate

  • Ability to influence the prioritization of the product backlog

  • Ability to evaluate technical alternatives and decomposing significantly complex problems into straightforward technical propositions

  • Fluent in Aha, Rally, GitHub

  • Ability to ensure integration testing / automation practices

  • Ability to manage upward

  • Available to effectively support other product portfolios

  • Ability to positively influence outcomes across complex capabilities / initiatives

  • Effectively leads meetings with senior leadership

  • Ability to anticipate leadership / stakeholder needs; proactively address gaps

  • Ability to serve as an intermediary between business and architecture/engineering teams and subjectively traverse when needed

  • Ability to coach others on areas of expertise
