Primary Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff

• Develops functional, market level, and/or site strategy, plans, production and/or organizational priorities

• Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems outside own team

• Product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact entire functions and/or customer accounts (internal or external)

• Provide leadership to junior engineers and guide their work, Oversee technical projects, ensuring successful execution, Propose budgets and schedules for engineering initiatives. Train and mentor other team members

• Plan and execute large-scale engineering projects, Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals

• Owns an end to end process

• Leading a team building and supporting data solutions with a focus on quality, performance, scalability, and resilience

• Continuously evaluating team workload and capacity and providing timely information concerning throughput and resource needs

• Leading and participating in data solution planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation activities

• Directing day-to-day development activities for a team of data professionals

• Collaborating on and executing an SDLC for a portfolio of new and existing data solutions

• Developing and cultivating stakeholder relationships to understand business needs and drive prioritization

• Acting as technical lead on projects

• Designing, developing, and maintaining data streaming solutions using technologies such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, or similar platforms

• Implementing real-time data processing and analytics pipelines

• Ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of streaming data solutions

• Monitoring and troubleshooting streaming data pipelines to ensure continuous data flow and minimal downtime

• Ensuring compliance with and participating in operational workflows, including code reviews, change management, and release management

• Providing accurate estimates and delivering on commitments in an efficient and effective manner

• Providing support and guidance to the business concerning data artifacts, solutions, and analysis

• Providing production support as required to support business operations

• Assisting in team operational, solution, and process improvement initiatives

• Reviewing the work of others

• Developing innovative approaches

• Being sought out as an expert

• Serving as a leader/mentor

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or other technology-related fields

• 12+ years of software application development and documentation experience with a focus on quality, performance, scalability, and resilience using front end technologies and database

• 8+ years of experience in .NET framework and related technologies such as ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, .NET Core, etc.

• 8+ years of Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns

• 8+ years of experience with database technologies commonly used in .NET development, such as SQL Server or MySQL

• 6+ years of knowledge of web development technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks

• 4+ years of experience using TFS, Azure DevOps, or GIT tools for data solution management and delivery

• 2+ years of familiarity with Azure services and solutions, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS)

• Experience with database design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance

• Experience in container orchestration using Kubernetes for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications

• Experience in collaborating with DevOps teams for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

• Experience in applying design patterns to solve common software design challenges and improve code quality

• Knowledge of agile development practices and DevOps principles

• Proficiency in database technologies commonly used at Azure, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Database for MySQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, etc.

• Knowledge of data storage, retrieval, indexing, and query optimization techniques

• Familiarity with database security, compliance, and disaster recovery best practices

• Understanding of data integration, migration, and synchronization processes

• Ability to maintain awareness of current engineering operations practices (e.g. DevOps, DataOps, SecOps, Data Science, Data Engineering), deepening expertise where most relevant to role and problem space

• Ability to reuse and/or develops for reuse complex components or capabilities to solve complex problems and needs

• Ability to enhance system design/architecture to simplify and improve resiliency in system interactions and dependencies

• Ability to contribute to or helps drive architecture/design, technology, and tool decisions and implementations

• Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker for creating, deploying, and managing containers

• Knowledge of container networking, storage, and security concepts

• Familiarity with container registries, container monitoring, and logging tools

• Understanding of microservices architecture and how it relates to containerization

• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to containerization and orchestration

• Proficiency in software design principles and patterns, such as SOLID principles, design patterns, and architectural patterns like MVC, MVVM, etc.

• Knowledge of anti-patterns and when to avoid certain design patterns based on specific requirements
