The Xbox Experiences and Platforms team is home to the design and engineering work that makes this vision possible, building the developer tools and services that enable game creators to craft incredible experiences, the commerce systems that connect publishers with their audience and help gamers engage with their next favorite games, the platforms on which those games play at their best, and the experiences that turn every screen into an Xbox. 

Responsibilities

We are hiring an experienced Engineer Manager to help us manage/build front-end/backend Services that power various scenarios and experiences across Edge, Mobile, PC and Console clients. You will coach and lead a fun-loving, diverse team that seeks challenges, loves learning and values teamwork. You will collaborate with other managers and partners to build solutions that span across multiple services in a dynamic and agile environment, and have opportunities to contribute to career growth of individuals, engineering architecture, business strategy, and work on high-business impact areas.

Technical Excellence - Ability to learn about the gaming space, work with the engineers in the team and the PM team, contributing to the shaping of the scenarios, experience in leveraging good service principles and leveraging industry standards, ability to look at the problem space and architecting solutions that help us with both short-term releases and prepare us for long term scale with our rapid customer growth, and deliver innovations is a must-have.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience

  • Experience in your career history as a hands-on engineer working with large scale distributed systems with at least 2year as a people manager

  • Experience architecting, developing and managing requirements and making data-driven decisions

  • Experience in trade-off scenarios, prior ownership of a roadmap, and setting goals

Additional

  • 3+ years of successful experience as people manager is a plus

  • Prior experience of building services using c#, .Net on Kubernetes infrastructure is a plus
