Job Description Summary

The Microsystems team at GE Research is looking for candidates who are interested in the research and development of Microsystems and their integration into industrial products. As a Electronics and Packing Engineer you will be working closely with a highly experienced multidisciplinary team to continue the development of world leading technology for our wide range of customers. The primary focus of this position will be developing state of the art mixed-signal integrated circuits, enabling performance breakthroughs that differentiate our advanced microsystems sensing solutions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Electronics and Packaging Researcher you will:

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of Scientists, Engineers, and Technicians pushing the state of the art in Microelectronic systems.

  • Communicate status updates with key stake holders within and outside GE Research

  • Design and investigate packaging solutions for a wide range of applications including miniaturized sensing, RF-based telemetry and high power delivery.

  • Investigate and lead advanced electronic 3D printing methods.

  • Build Microsystem solutions specific to our customer’s needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant Engineering discipline or MS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 years of related experience in Microsystems

  • Demonstrated experience designing and fabricating advanced packaged electronics

  • Demonstrated experience with system modeling and tolerancing.

  • Demonstrated experience with low noise electronics and lab measurements a plus.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

Desired Characteristics:

  • A strong working knowledge of 3D and 2D electronic packaging techniques, including planning for thermal management and reliability.

  • Strong knowledge of additive electronic printing methods.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop custom solutions to sensor system integration

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.

  • Proficiency with statistical tools and statistical analysis

  • Good presentation, speaking, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt to change and willingness to be flexible in a global team environment

The base pay range for this position is 80,000 - 150,000 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on July 2, 2024
