About Us The Naval Nuclear Laboratory comprises the U.S. Department of Energy locations and personnel responsible for developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, providing technical support to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation's naval nuclear reactors, and training the Sailors who operate those reactors in the U.S. Navy's submarines and aircraft carrier Fleets. Job Description The Naval Nuclear Laboratory has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Professional to join our growing Health and Welfare team! The Benefits Professional will handle a wide variety of tasks related to all of NNL's benefit plans, including day to day administration and participant interface, vendor management, supporting changes to benefit plan design and assistance with compliance related functions. The plans include health, dental, vision, wellness, EAP, life insurance, short and long term disability, leave of absence, voluntary benefits, defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans, nonqualified plans and relocation. This involves regular interface with employees and retirees, vendors, managers at all levels, corporate legal personnel, union leadership, and may include some limited interface with Department of Energy Contracting Officer personnel and other oversight organizations. The position will also require monitoring of legislative trends to help ensure that NNL's plans are in compliance with those laws. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of relevant experience or Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience. Preferred Skills Minimum of 4 years of relevant benefit experience involving responsibility for daily administration, design and compliance for a wide variety of benefit plans. Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources Management or related area. Certificate which demonstrates specialized knowledge in the area of benefits. Experience working in a government contracting environment.
