Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.

The opportunity

  • Position : Part-Time PSW/Support Service Attendant/Health Care Aide

  • Location : Niagara Region (St. Catharines/Welland)

  • Compensation :

  • Starting wage: $19.52/hour.

  • Eligible for $3.00/hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for direct client support.

  • Paid travel time and mileage reimbursement.

  • Requirements :

  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable vehicle are mandatory.

  • Must be available for varying shifts, including days, evenings, midnights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in their homes with non-medical daily living activities, including:

  • Personal care.

  • Dressing and grooming.

  • Rising and retiring.

  • Incontinence care (training provided).

  • Meal preparation and feeding.

  • Range of motion exercises.

  • Light housekeeping.

  • Lifts and transfers (training provided).

  • Maintain a professional approach that respects the dignity and privacy of clients.

  • Ensure health and safety protocols for clients and staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Experience with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or caregiving is an asset (not mandatory).

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Physical demands self-assessment required upon hire.

  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours.
