Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Summary:

• Manage and own the Plant Supply Chain functional areas of Order management, Production Planning, Procurement, and Warehousing (Shipping/Receiving/Storage/Picking/Inventory Control).

• Directly manage supervisors and team leaders responsible for one or more functional areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Supply Chain functions of Procurement, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Warehousing, Shipping/Receiving, trade compliance, and contingency planning,

• Collaborate with Product Team and Product Line Managers (PLM) to obtain understanding of customer value

• Provide technical and operational support to Supply chain functions

• Partners with business leaders to identify and communicate appropriate performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders.

• Work with PLM to understand demand model and drive synchronization of orders

• NPI/product changes- Managing cutover / inventory

• Collaborates with Regional Planners to ensure capacity strategies are implemented (trigger AR, etc.)

• Collaborate with key suppliers and provide forecasting inputs

• Identify and prioritize risk mitigation requirements

• Prioritize cost reduction opportunities for GSM

• Provides any direction in the implementation and continues improvement of logistics solutions through the distributions phases

• Optimizes the capacity for transportation and warehousing at the lowest cost while fulfilling business objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree, Supply Chain or Technical degree preferable

• 8+ years’ experience in Manufacturing or SC Operations with a demonstrated track record of results

• Understanding of supply chain strategy best practices and philosophy in optimizing operations (Capability)

• Understanding of process flow from fiber to finished solution (Capacity)

• Ability to align and build teams to deliver results (Influence). Able to get things done by influencing resources across the globe that are not direct reports and may have conflicting regional priorities

• SAP knowledge and/or understanding

• Financial acumen (understanding landed cost and VAT to drive decision making)

• Ability to simplify complex situations and deal w/ ambiguity

• Strong communications (particularly upward within a global organization), leadership, and interpersonal skills

• Proven leadership and change management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or Master’s degree

• Professional certification in supply chain management, operations, or engineering (APICS, PMP, Six Sigma)

• Ability to demonstrate a track record of influencing a variety of key stakeholders to deliver results

• Ability to establish direction, work across multiple work streams, create strategy, and execute

• A leader in impacting performance and delivery of internal service

• Experience in project management and superior organization skills

• Understanding of product and regional demand

The range for this position is $135,540.00 - $186,368.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
