Maternal/Child
Utilizes the nursing process, incorporates other clinical disciplines into the process and coordinates the care while acting as the patient advocate. Participates in-patient and family teaching. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other personnel. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice.
Requirements:Current Vermont RN or LPN license. Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Successfully completed a course in External Fetal Monitoring within six months of hire. Satisfactory completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Certification. Provides family centered care competently for patients in Newborn Nursery, Labor, Delivery, Post Partum and Pediatrics
Emergency Department
Statement of Purpose
The RN II, in addition to all RN I functions, duties and responsibilities, collaborates with other healthcare providers in overseeing an ongoing comprehensive plan of care for a complex patient or groups of patient. Anticipates consequences of altered physiologic homeostasis and utilizes advanced skills to initiate early interventions. Participates in identifying, planning and implementing changes to improve unit operations and patient care outcomes. Qualified to function in the role of preceptor. Assumes responsibility for continued professional development and shares knowledge with others. May apply for Clinical Ladder.
Job Requirements
Education:Graduate of a nursing program: diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate program. BSN preferred.
Experience:1-2 years of direct patient care as an RN, or after nurse residency or orientation program
MED/SURG

In addition to the staff nurse job description, the nurse will coordinate the care given to the patient in the Preoperative phase and Postoperative phase of the patients care. The nurse is to serve as a patient advocate.
