STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care and all nursing activities for the Medical/Surgical and Intensive Care Units. Maximizes resource utilization and achieves organizational objectives through continuous improvement and process evaluation for cost effective care and quality clinical outcomes. Ensures compliance with established organizational, professional and accreditation standards and state/federal laws and regulations.

This position allows for flexibility in determining priorities, programs, and procedures within the framework of the North Country Hospital mission, goals, and objectives. Maintains twenty-four hour accountability for all activities in unit.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Work History
   1. Required:
      1. Proven clinical experience in adult medical and surgical nursing.
      2. Proven clinical experience in critical care nursing, including telemetry monitoring.
      3. Proven knowledge of business management: finances and productivity.
      4. Supervisory experience to effectively lead a dedicated nursing team with varied skill levels.
   2. Desired: Experience with Studer leadership principles
