Summary You will serve as a Practical Nurse in the Primary Care of NMRTC NEW ENGLAND RI. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities You will initiate and facilitate patient care through appropriate triage activities. You will conduct patient check-in, interviews, initial assessments, and direct patient flow. You will collect and label specimens. You will perform various treatments such as hot/cold packs, sterile dressings, and/or sterile gauze application. You will assist in general maintenance of clinic and patient care equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Candidates must be currently licensed to practice as practical or vocational nurses in a State or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia or must have applied for a license to practice. (Please provide copy of licensure. Failure to possess this factor WILL result in an ineligible rating.) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing nursing care such as initial assessments and triage activities for patients in all age groups; Assisting in various clinical examinations and/or procedures to include setting up and passing instruments to provider; Collecting and labeling appropriate specimens for laboratory transport; and Assisting in lifesaving measure such as CPR, hemorrhage and shock control.
