Position Overview

The Shore Manager role is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of all logistic, facility, customer budgets acquisition, and inventory of all customer furnished equipment. Additionally, this position ensures that the Machinery Repair Facility team has the necessary parts and spares required to execute their work delivering operational systems for customer use This position is responsible for managing a team of 12 direct reports. This role must also effectively influence and drive the work of these direct reports as well as other members of the Ocean Operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute annual customer budgets to ensure the timely and accurate allocation and appropriation of funds.

  • Supervise logistics personnel, technicians, acquisitions, and other onshore staff, creating a highly engaged and performing team.

  • Supervisory responsibilities include effectively interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Provide logistic support for customer equipment aboard ships at sea and foreign ports.

  • Oversee the infrastructure support for multiple buildings at customer site and ships at sea.

  • Provide reports and presentations as required by customers in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere.

  • Travel to customer sites when requested providing customer required support for budgetary and logistical matters.

Qualifications

  • College degree in Business Administration preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum ten years of relevant work experience.

  • Minimum five years of supervisory and management experience.

  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 5% of the time to and work at remote locations.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain DOD Secret clearance with ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret clearance.

  • Prior Navy/Military supply experience is a plus.

  • Acquisition Logistics Management Level 1 certified desired.
