The Senior Finance Analyst – Sales Operations will support and partner with Sales Operations leadership and the broader operations teams providing analytics, modeling, actionable insights and decision support focused on cost drivers, variances, tradeoffs and industry trends to drive extraordinary performance.

Location:

This is a Hybrid role based out of Newport News, VA location, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote. 

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis – Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario modeling to provide insights for senior leadership decision making.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting – Collaborate with teams to build and maintain annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Continuously supervise budget performance and recommend adjustments, as vital.

  • Financial Reporting – Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to leadership, emphasizing performance indicators and areas for improvement.

  • Cost Control – Find opportunities for cost savings and actively participate in implementing cost reduction strategies that maintain efficiency and quality.

  • Financial Modeling – Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate the potential impact of business initiatives, investment opportunities, and risks.

  • Data Analysis – Gather and analyze financial data from sources to gain insights into business performance and trends. Apply data visualization tools to present findings optimally.

  • Compliance – Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. Assist with external audits and maintain accurate financial records.

  • Process Improvement – Find opportunities to streamline processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Team Collaboration – Collaborate with finance colleagues and provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance analysts, contributing to their professional growth and development.

  • Ad Hoc Analysis – Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent; MBA, CPA, or CFA is a plus.

  • A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting; wholesale industry experience is preferred.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial software tools (Excel, ERP systems, etc).

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance partners.

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to provide insights to support business decisions.

Pay Range:

$5,175.00 - $9,716.30

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
