Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Legal Administrative Assistant. If you have familiarity and experience in product data and master data management, coupled with a commitment to great customer service, this is the position for you!

JOB OBJECTIVE

Support attorneys and claims managers in administrative responsibilities, including tendering claims to third parties, preparing legal documents, file management to include processing incoming correspondence.

RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

·In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon department growth and evolving operation.

● Very organized with ability to organize and maintain files, schedules and tasks

● Prepare and edit correspondence and other legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Review initial claims documentation, research and identify potentially liable third parties, and tender claims to third parties.

● Excellent phone etiquette and verbal communication skills that are professional, enthusiastic and cooperative

● Poise and maturity to interact with individuals outside and inside the organization, including management, disgruntled third parties/customers, outside counsel and senior executives

● Prioritize and manage deadlines when dealing with multiple tasks combined with the ability to work with a sense of urgency when needed

● Work independently or in a group with proficiency and creativity

● Effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations

● Focus on details while managing numerous tasks simultaneously

● Maintain strict confidentiality

● Work on and complete special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

● Very strong organizational, verbal, written and typing skills

● Knowledge of and experience with administrative and commonly-used business and legal concepts, practices and procedures

● Demonstrated skill in exercising sound judgment, creativity, perspective and strategic agility

● Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to explore and quickly learn other software applications, including matter management software

● Work independently with minimal supervision to carry out objectives

● Deal with challenges with a positive professional attitude

  • In-office attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory, including arriving at the time scheduled by your supervisor daily.

● High school graduate;

● Previous legal or claims handling experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Communicate with managers, associates and others regarding issues and recommendations;

  • Input data and other information into computer programs using a keyboard and other input devices;

  • Draft written documents including correspondence and spreadsheets;

  • Read, interpret and analyze correspondence, forms and data;

  • Utilize standard office equipment; and

  • Move about through an office environment to obtain files, documents and interact with others.

FREQUENTLY USED EQUIPMENT:

  • Telephone;

  • Personal computer; and

  • Scanner/copier.
