Amentum Integrated Submarine Imaging System AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) Engineering Technician in Newport News, Virginia
Amentum is currently seeking an Integrated Submarine Imaging System AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) Engineering Technician to support efforts in Newport News, VA.
The successful candidate will provide technical evaluation and perform the required corrective actions for Virginia Class AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) systems in accordance with DoD and Navy Maintenance Procedures; assist in the installation, testing, and certification of the AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) systems of Virginia class submarines; and provide support in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, operation of systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at Company and client sites.
Perform or coordinate test and evaluation, checkout, and certification tasks of AN/BVY-1 systems.
Perform validations/verifications of various electronic systems related to the operation of the ISIS System and Photonics Mast Variants (PMV) to include Mast Technical Insertion (MTI) and Low Profile Photonics Mast (LPPM).
Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts.
Support engineers in the development of a technical proposal and provide input on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.
Technical (Military/Trade) school and at least 5 years of experience or equivalent.
Experience investigating, troubleshooting, and designing solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.
Understanding of Quality Assurance and SUBSAFE requirements onboard submarines.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Graduate of ISIS maintenance course A-102-0388.
Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
