This opportunity resides with Nuclear & Environmental Services, a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Nuclear & Environmental Services supporting the national security mission of the Department of Energy (DOE) through the management and operation of its sites, as well as the safe cleanup of legacy waste across the country and responsibility for our growth in international markets, particularly the partner nations for the AUKUS Tri-lateral Alliance. We meet our clients’ toughest challenges, and are postured to serve the growing commercial nuclear operations and nuclear decommissioning markets. This position will be in support of AUKUS (the trilateral agreement between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States) to help develop and assist the nuclear-powered submarine capability in Australia and the United Kingdom.
The Director of Program Management will report directly to the Vice President, Strategy and Integration for NEG and exclusively supports NEG’s expansion into international markets, focusing on the Commonwealth of Australia and the United Kingdom. The Director will support N&EG’s identification, qualification, and ultimate realization of defense and commercial nuclear growth opportunities in this emerging market.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading, managing, and aggressively growing an international business.
Provide the strategic vision and associated roadmap to achieve international market penetration and ensure long-term growth of the international business portfolio, with a specific focus on growing the company’s footprint of programs and customers in the Commonwealth of Australia and United Kingdom.
Develop and nurture internal and external partnerships and relationships- business development activities in the U.S. and internationally.
Drive organizational excellence by developing international capability among team members, identifying emerging leaders supporting expansion into international markets, and driving investment in new talent that will enable growth and long-term success in international markets.
Serve as principal liaison (International Coordinator) between Australia/United Kingdom-based team members and Nuclear & Environmental Services home office. This will include ensuring prompt and effective communications, status of programs and business development efforts.
Provide smooth coordination with other HII Divisions and Business groups including engineering, program management, business management, and supply chain.
Candidate must be flexible with working hours to support multiple time zones.
What you need to have:
10 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; or 8 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field.
National and International travel will be required.
The successful candidate must be, by his/her inherent nature, a self-starter, innovative, and entrepreneurial.
Candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
Clear understanding of necessary infrastructure to support ship and submarine maintenance is required.
Bonus points for:
PMP certification is highly desired for this role.
Broad understanding of Huntington Ingalls Industries.
International business experience or experience with Australia.
