Eurofins Senior Sample Preparation Technician in Newmarket, United Kingdom

Chemtest is part of Eurofins; we are an award winning company providing routine analytical services and bespoke specialist testing throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. Our staff are employed across a number of strategically placed locations, all utilising the latest technologies. Our laboratories are UKAS accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and, where applicable the Environment Agency MCERTS Performance Standard for soils.

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 2:30am - 10:30am.

Previous experience within a laboratory is not required.

  • Ensuring workloads are processed within Phase 1 to meet timescales determined by customers and the business

  • People management responsibility for the Lab on a day to-day-basis i.e. sickness, annual leave and productivity

  • Sample preparation as required

  • Entering results onto LIMS

  • Maintain divisions internal TAT target(s)

  • Solving team problems and making decisions within the team to resolve issues.

  • Suggest and improve processes on the Lab to help improve internal TAT.

  • Monitoring and ensuring quality control in compliance with laboratory quality systems

  • Highlighting key problems or successes for the team to the Divisional Team Leader

  • Maintaining the laboratory equipment in line with safety certification and operating manuals

  • Day-to-day reporting of internal TAT statistics

  • Monitoring of backlogs

  • Overseeing the expression of results

  • Ensuring daily and monthly Quality checks are carried out.

  • Responsible for maintaining work area cleanliness.

  • Identify and plan for team training

  • Previous experience within a laboratory is not required, full training will be provided.
