Inside Sales Representative – Power Systems, Parts & Service

Newington, CT

Pay: $60,000 - $70,000/year (dependent on relevant experience)

Bonus Potential: 10%

    Key qualifications :

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a technical support/sales position preferred

  • Experience with supporting/advising/quoting electrical equipment (generator, ATS, switchgear) AC & DC, and diesel engine maintenance a plus

  • Must be computer proficient, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Must be willing and able to work off-hours (nights and weekends) as needed to provide back up for off-hours emergency service calls

  • Must be willing to go to job sites as needed for customer support assistance alongside PSSR

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    Responsibilities

    Provide inside assistance and sales support to the Generator Outside Sales Reps (PSSRs) and Field Service Department

  • Generate and submit quotes for service reports and customer calls

  • Maintain and update oil and coolant sample reports to customers and notify customers and PSSRs of any problematic reports that require follow-up

  • Assist Field Service and PSSRs with scheduling customer appointments, new engine walk-through inspections, and new installation training and accompany PSSRs when needed

  • Assist PSSR’s sales efforts by researching internet sites and other sources for possible bids and repair work. Call and set appointments for PSSR’s for customers that have not had activity in the past year

    Assist Generator Outside Sales Reps (PSSRs) in providing field service of recognized superior value

  • Assist supervisor with coordinating services and parts look-up and ordering

  • Handle phone calls by determining nature of calls, taking messages and direct to proper individuals or resolve in an appropriate manner

  • When a customer requires a technician, solicit proper information and convey to supervisor and/or technicians, ensuring efficient response

  • Assist with response to customer information inquires such as jobs status updates, invoice questions, projected completion dates, etc.

    Communicate with customers, the market, and our vendors in a manner that aligns with our corporate values

  • Investigate and achieve resolution of customer concerns and complaints such as billing and credit issues with the Credit and Service Departments

  • Redirect or handle non-product support related phone calls such as those requiring technical assistance

  • Coordinate the beginning stages of customers’ concerns that many need the help of the Caterpillar Engine Product Support Representative

    Qualifications

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a technical support/sales position preferred

    Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time

  • Hand coordination (typing and writing)

  • Frequent walking and potential need for climbing

  • Occasional forward bending and reaching

  • Carrying (up to 20lbs.)
