Financial Analyst I, Hartford HealthCare The Financial Analyst I works collaboratively with Accountants, Revenue Cycle professionals, Managed Care, Third Party reimbursement and Financial Analysts, to properly oversee changes from one month to the next, of changes to net revenue under the RCA tool. JOB DESCRIPTION: Analyzes account receivable and revenue activity for acute entities by reviewing data through the RCA tool. Determines reasons for why variances occur month to month. When appropriate, takes corrective action in resolving variances, problems and issues when identified. · Analyzes data to assist finance leaders, complete close reviews packages utilizing standard work, reporting, AR reconciliations, transaction monitoring, monitors themes to determine recommendations, meeting all required month end deadlines. · Completes special reports as requested, provide financial expertise for reports/surveys as needed by others, and assist managers in understanding/interpreting monthly financial reports. · Captures key performance indicators for improvement based on the RCA tool. Reports key statistical data regarding payment patterns, denial details, etc · Responsibilities will include system maintenance, developing reports, expanding application functionality. · Works closely with stakeholders from different functional units, mainly revenue cycle/managed care / CareConnect on topics, including but not limited to billing, payments, RCA logic and denial management. · Acts as a resource to other units within Hartford Health Care Corporation by providing financial data and other support as a member of a team or in response to requests for information. · Assumes responsibility for self-improvement, in collaboration with supervisor, by identifying, communicating and seeking resources or instruction/validation to meet own learning needs, and is self-directed in maintaining latest education expertise. · MUST have Health Care/Medical Revenue Cycle experience · Knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.2 General Ledger system a positive. · Knowledge of EPIC patient accounting system a positive · Self-motivated individual with strong analytical, quantitative and computer skills. · Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Advanced Pivots. Tableau experience is a positive. · The successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills and will be expected to interact with various levels of staff and management. · 10 years’ experience in analyzing, preference given to a health care background or BA/BS degree.
